Our seasons are filled with music festivals like Jazzfest, the International Folkfest, and Blues Bash, when the city vibrates with excitement. Music for all tastes can be found at cathedrals, concert halls, night clubs and pubs, and in the streets. You'll find your feet tapping as you pass steel bands, or talented street buskers.

The setting was originally a carriage house and barn, and now is a quaint neighbourhood theatre. This season offers a Noel Coward play, Steel Magnolias, and a Christopher Fry presentation to mention a few in its jubilee year.

VICTORIA CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC

with 2000 students and 100 faculty, this magnificent heritage building vibrates with the sounds of music. They host a wine festival with conservatory musicians playing, and a busy schedule of musical presentations from piano to harp to orchestra.

In its 62nd year, one of Canada's finest full-time professional ensembles. This symphony boards the barge mid-summer and puts on a terrific charity performance for 40,000 people along the harbour front.
