Victoria Art Galleries

Victoria's cultural scene is second to none. Our fine art galleries include the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria with its permanent collection of over 15,000 objets d'arts, and Maltwood Art Museum at the University of Victoria. Don't miss the Stinking Fish studio tours in August, when Metchosin and Sooke artists show their wares of pottery, paintings and other remarkable miscellany. The Moss Street paint-in, Gorge waterway artists at work and June's "Potter in the Garden" are but a few events to see. One of Canada's finest art museums with a permanent collection of 15,000 objets d'art, the collection features art from Asia, Europe and North America with primary emphasis placed on Canada and Japan. The Gallery is housed in a combination of contemporary exhibition spaces and an historic 19th century mansion called Gyppeswick.
